How to: Use Happity to find new customers for your classes

You probably registered on Happity because you know it can help you bring more customers to your classes. But how do you make sure you’re getting found?

Over 2.6 million parents across the UK rely on Happity to find fun local activities to do with their child quickly and easily – running tens of thousands of searches every week. Follow our quick step-by-step guide to make sure you’re appearing in those searches, and converting the customers who find you into bookings.

Let’s get set-up for success:

1. List your entire timetable

To maximise the number of search results you appear in, make sure you’re listing detailed and complete information about all your classes. Remember:

  • Having a profile alone isn’t enough – you can’t get found on Happity until you list at least 1 class
  • The more classes you list, the more searches you will appear in!
  • Even if a class is full, still add it to the listings. Then parents can find your provider profile and see all the classes you’re running
  • Add categories to get found in Google searches (30% of Happity’s traffic from Google Searches lands on a category page). Select up to two that best describe your classes, e.g. your Mum & Baby Yoga class could appear in both ‘Post-natal yoga & pilates’ and ‘baby yoga’.

2. Don’t forget your dates

We highly recommend adding dates / term information to your classes. The benefits:

  • Enables the ‘Next on’ date and calendar view to appear on your class pages
  • Makes you eligible for Happity’s What’s On newsletter (see section 5)
  • Customers can’t book without them!

3. Use your class description to convert

An appealing class description can be what convinces a wavering parent to pick your class over the many others happening in their area that day! Aim for a welcoming and inclusive tone, and while concise is good, give enough information so potential customers know what to expect. Remember, some new parents will have never attended baby classes before, so don’t be afraid to spell out exactly what happens in your classes. Including practical details like where to park / leave their buggy can reassure a new parent who might be feeling daunted about getting out to try something new. And lastly, according to Happity’s survey, their child’s development is the lead reason for taking their little one to a class (over 80% of parents cited it), so if yours aids gross / fine motor, speech & social skills, be sure to mention it!

4. Add an image and logo to make your listing even more persuasive

Images can really make your profile and class listings stand out. Plus seeing a class in action helps parents visualise what will happen, making them much more likely to come along for themselves. Happity Members have the option to add a header image and their brand logo to their pages. It only takes three simple steps but will appear in search results, your company profile, class pages & checkout, newsletter listings and our ‘Also nearby’ section, so it can make a real difference!

5. Get into the What’s On newsletter

Happity’s What’s On newsletter, which goes out weekly to over 120,000 parents, is the perfect way to reach local families who are looking for classes. Each newsletter is personalised to the recipient, making it laser-targeted to the age of their child and location. Maximise the number of newsletters you appear in by:

  • Becoming a Member
  • Adding dates to your listings (see section 1)
  • Verifying your classes at least every 12 weeks, so that parents know they’re still running and that information is up-to-date
  • Switching on bookings: using Happity’s booking system increases your likelihood of appearing in search results and our newsletter – not to mention making it much easier for parents to book!

Read our guide to getting featured in the What’s On newsletter for further information.

6. Use Featured Listings

Featured Listings put your class at the top of the search results for local parents searching for fun things to do with their little one. Available to all our Members, they’re a really powerful way to reach customers who are looking for classes just like yours, for only 1p per search (much cheaper and more targeted than a Facebook or Google Ad!).

You choose to promote specific classes – or all of them! One particular class going through a quiet period? Simply choose that class and set your maximum budget for that month. You can adjust this easily (or turn it off) at any time from your Member dashboard, so it’s worth experimenting with and seeing what works for you. See
this blog for a full guide to making the most out of the Featured Listings function.

7. Get social shout-outs / write a blog for Happity

We’re always looking for fun and engaging content to share on our platforms! And with over 23K Instagram and 13K Facebook followers, we can help you increase your reach with a key audience. If you’re a Member and have bookings turned on, simply tag us in your Insta stories (@happityapp) with a booking link and we will reshare on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays.

Another way to engage with Happity parents is to write a piece for our much-loved blog, which receives over 20k visits a month. If you’re a Happity Member and would like to write a guest article for us, fill out this form to tell us a bit about what you’d like to cover and we’ll get back to you.

Good luck!
