How to: sell extra spaces in your class with Happity bookings (even if you already have a booking system!)

Many of our class providers like to use their own booking systems, and worry that joining the Happity booking platform will mean having to give that up. Not so! Even if you already have a main booking system, you can still use Happity bookings to pick up extra customers for your classes.

But why would I want to, we hear you ask?!

      • Think of it as a marketing tool. Happity is different to other booking systems because it’s designed to find you customers as well as take payments. Rather than relinquishing control over your admin, it can actually be a useful add on to your current system – so why not try it and see?
      • Our time-poor parents tell us they prefer to be able to book via Happity for ease. When you have your hands full with a baby or toddler, the last thing you want is to be redirected to a separate website and have to register your details afresh! Avoid sending potential customers off elsewhere or them having to faff around with sending an enquiry (especially when their question might be time-sensitive) – instead, capture their interest while they’re on the site and ready to book.
      • Happity’s bookable classes get 4 x more views. We know that parents come to Happity to make a booking. Without bookings switched on, you’re missing out on being seen by lots of parents looking for classes just like yours.

All it takes is 3 easy steps:

      1. Become a Member and connect your Stripe to switch on bookings.

      2. Ensure you have prices, dates and spaces added to your class listings.

      3. If you’re using Happity alongside another booking system, decide how many spaces you want to sell via Happity. You can enter this capacity via the ticket set up (see FAQs below).

Then sit back and watch the bookings roll in!

      Frequently Asked Questions

      How much is Happity’s commission?

You pay just 2.5% + VAT of the cost of each booking, plus Stripe’s payment processing fee of 1.5% + 20p. So for an £8 class, that’s 56p per single booking.  See more information about our commission and why we choose to partner with Stripe.

Will I pay commission on all my bookings?

No! You’ll only ever pay commission on bookings we take on your behalf, not on any bookings you take via your other booking system.

But won’t I run the risk of over-booking my classes?

It’s impossible to oversell spaces, as long as you manage your capacity across your two bookings systems. It’s straightforward to set the number of spaces you want to make available each week by going to your class timetable on the Dashboard and selecting the capacity for each (see below and our step-by-step guide).

So how do I get set up?

It’s simple! See our full guide here. You’ll need to start by connecting your Stripe account to get paid. Remember, the bookings function is only available to Happity Members, so if you’re on our free plan, you’ll need to upgrade to get started.
